Tourism infrastructure is not as developed and mainstream as it is in other parts of Europe and you most likely won't find fast trains, five-star hotels or fast food chains like you have back home! And that's exactly why we have chosen to head East. The Balkans can provide experiences that are hard to find elsewhere- a rawness, untouched wilderness, and authentic encounters with locals alike. At KILROY we call this region the "Exotic Nearby" as it's reachable by train, yet it feels like if you were traveling a world away. "Exotic" for us is authenticity, amazing nature, interesting cultures, cheap prices and in general just plenty of WTF moments that will make it a journey you won't forget. When you enter this region you will quickly experience the crystal clear waters, alpine peaks, mosques, yugos (the old soviet car), fresh fruit markets and high laughter among the locals when hanging out outside at the local tavernas. The Exotic Nearby is waiting to be explored.
